Orange County’s Transportation Future – Work Session #2

April 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us at 201 S Rosalind Ave Orlando Fl 32801 (Orange County Administration Building) on March 22nd in support of the Transportation Sales Tax Initiative! It is critical bikers engage throughout this process to ensure our voices are heard and our safety prioritized. Do you want more bike paths? Protected bike lanes? Frequent and convenient transit? Come ask for it!
Public Comment period begins at 9am, but it is recommended to get there at 8:45 to fill out a comment card and prepare.
This is a Work Session, so the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) will not be voting on it. Sign up for public comment here: https://ocfl.net/…/BoardAppearanceandPublicComment.aspx
We want to make sure there is a commitment to spending the revenue from this fund primarily on road maintenance, not road widenings; public transportation; Complete Streets; and bike infrastructure. We will never make meaningful strides in climate change mitigation or public safety improvement without reducing car reliance. It is widely known that Orlando Metropolitan Area is the worst in the country for pedestrians. To improve this is a huge task, but the people of Orange County want less traffic, cleaner air, and healthier lives. This funding will enable it.
We will be urging the Board of County Commissioners to ensure that these revenues are not spent on wasteful road expansions, but impactful infrastructure.
Join us and please feel free to message us with any questions
