This is a night to honor our dear friend Ralph Ameduri Jr.
“Pasta Sunday” is an Ameduri family tradition. I experienced the awesome food for many years when Ralph would bring leftovers to me, knowing that I rarely ate home-cooked meals in those days. When Ralph passed, David and Bruce Schweizer and I were invited to a Pasta Sunday by Ralph’s wonderful family. It was everything I imagined: an Italian feast! Appetizers, meats, pastas, breads salads, wines, and desserts as far as the eye could see. Of course, it was bittersweet without Ralph there, but it was a beautiful night. We laughed, ate, drank, cried a little, but mostly just celebrated his existence. He touched and taught so many of us on so many levels, it was truly special and something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Now, his family has invited all of us to share in one of those traditional nights that Ralph loved so –we are recreating Pasta Sunday! (This is not a Ralphfest, those events are beloved, extraordinarily special and unique.) This is just one simple night with music, family, friends and food at a place that is home to us, Will’s Pub!
Riverbottom Nightmare band and Eugene Snowden and Friends are just two of the many bands Ralph played with. They’re going to provide the evening’s soundtrack; what we ask you to bring is an Italian dish to share. Something homemade or from your favorite Italian market or restaurant. Anything from appetizers to desserts, something that is at least 6 servings. A salad and bread and a little wine will be provided. if you bring a dish, that will serve as your cover, if you don’t (and that’s okay!), there will be a $10 cover that will go to Ralph’s favorite charity – the bands! We’d also love for you to bring a photo and/or story of Ralph to share at our feast. Mostly please come join us to celebrate him. Taken from us far too soon, this is a night to cherish Ralph’s memory with love, music, food, family and friends! as always, love and respect; hope to see you at this celebration of a truly wonderful life.
