Plant SwapFest 2016

SATURDAY EVENT: COST: 5 dollar donation at the gate. GATES OPEN: At noon. This is our big, annual Plant Swap and Sale. Bring plants to give-away, trade, or sell. Expert speakers on various gardening/permaculture topics, multiple garden tours of our two acre food forest [over 500, mostly edible plants, including 40 bamboos, 50+ perennial veggies, 200+ heirloom fruits, 30+ true yams, rare native, 100+ medicinals, 30+ culinary gingers, and more.]. Free camping. Healthy potluck at 7 pm [label all ingredients, no artificial ingerdients, go heavy on local organic and backyard foods if possible]. Kids are welcome [they should be well-behaved and watched, thanks]. Pets best left at home, sorry. For information, including free vending space, call me, Andy Firk, at 863-263-2331. SUNDAY OPTIONAL WORKSHOP: The following day, we are hosting a four-hour workshop on “75 Clumping Bamboos for Florida – Their many uses, including edible shoots, construction, windbreaks, and more.” Donation: 20.00 dollarss, from Noon to 4 pm. Gates close Sunday at 65 pm. RAIN OR SHINE EVENT – We are renting a hall for 200 people just half a mile from our homestead, including parking for 200 vehicles, as a back up in case of rain. NOTE: The full moon is Sunday night.
