Poetry, Book Signing, Comics

Join us for an evening of poetry and comics with Vidhu Aggarwal and Bishakh Som. Aggarwal’s book of poems The Trouble with Humpdor (2016), which received the Editor’s Choice Prize from The (Great) Indian Poetry Collective, will be available for signing and purchase at this event.
Vidhu Aggarwal grew up in the Southern U.S. A Kundiman fellow, she is the founding editor of SPECS. Her poems appear in the anthologies Language for a New Century (W.W. Norton) and The Electronic Gurlesque (Saturnalia).
Bishakh Som’s comics have previously appeared in Hi-horse, SPECS, The Brooklyn Rail, Buzzfeed, The Graphic Canon, vol. 3 and most recently in the Eisner-nominated anthology Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream. They received the prestigious Xeric grant in 2003 for their comics collection Angel and they have just recently co-authored and illustrated The Prefab Bath: An Architectural History, published by McFarland Press in December 2014. Bishakh’s work will appear in the forthcoming anthology of queer paranormal romance comics, The Other Side.
