Stop Shooting Us in the Back March

November 13, 2020 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Residents are holding a “Jericho March” at Orlando Police Headquarters to appeal to city officials to ban police from shooting fleeing suspects in the back.
Please wear a face covering; COVID-19 precautions will be enforced.
This year the Orlando police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office shot two young black men – Kevin Adolphe and Salaythis Melvin — in the back killing them. Police are only supposed to shoot when their lives are in danger. There are many similar shootings around the country. If any person other than a cop shot a fleeing individual in the back they would go to jail.
A “Jericho March” is a peaceful prayer march. It refers to the Bible’s book of Joshua Chapter 6 in which the ancient Israelites were instructed to silently march around the city of Jericho seven times until the walls came tumbling down.
