‘The Silver Age of Carmine Infantino, Comic Book Illustrator’ Webinar
August 19, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
New York Adventure Club | www.AdventureClub.com
If DC Comics was the Cadillac of comic book publishers at the dawn of The Silver Age of Comics (circa 1956-70), then artist Carmine Infantino was their man at the wheel: his slick, streamlined style was the sine qua non of The Silver Age!
Join New York Adventure Club as we explore the illustrious career of comic book illustrator Carmine Infantino, whose graphic innovations in the 1950s and 1960s remain benchmarks in the comic book medium.
Led by award-winning comic book art illustrator and historian Arlen Schumer, this “visualecture” and dynamic presentation showcasing Infantino’s Silver Age comic book panels, pages, and covers like you’ve never seen before, will include:
- Which famous Golden Age superhero influenced the design for Infantino’s first superhero of the Silver Age, The Flash
- What Infantino had to give up, career-wise, in order to save Batman from cancellation
- How Infantino became the first-ever artist to become the publisher of a major comic book company
Afterward, we’ll have a Q&A with Arlen — any and all questions about Carmen Infantino are welcomed and encouraged!
