Cortex are part of the Scandinavian renaissance drawing on the ideals of early U.S. free-jazz forms. They are a quartet using the instrumentation of the classic Ornette Coleman Quartet – saxophone, trumpet, double bass and drums. This will be the second visit for Cortex. This will be the third visit for bandleader/trumpeter Thomas Johansson and saxophonist Kristoffer Alberts, concertizing in June with the barnstorming Large Unit.
