The Downtown South Main Street District has just unveiled a new branding package and changed their name, officially, to the SoDo District.

SoDo District’s mission and vision are focused on embracing the history of the District while keeping an eye toward the area’s diversity and growth as an economic engine in the region.

  • Vision: A vibrant residential and local business community embracing innovation and our vintage roots.
  • Mission: To improve our community by design, empower local businesses and residents to collaborate, and create a vibrant atmosphere to live, work, and play.

According to a recent press release issued by the SoDo main office, the new SoDo District banners will be hung throughout the area and new murals and signage will be rolled out through the next year. The “Orlando United” and “Orlando Strong” banners that were displayed in the SoDo District will be given to area businesses and community partners that demonstrated their incredible generosity following the tragedy at Pulse.

The lighting of the 20-foot Christmas tree will take place Sunday December 4, 2016, at SODO shopping center, located on South Orange Ave between Grant Street and Crystal Lake Street.

More information about the SoDo District can be found online at sododistrict.org.
