Mead Botanical Garden (Website) has just carried out a long-overdue renovation of their clubhouse building, located at the heart of the Winter Park park space.

The 3,000 SF building was originally built in the 1970s by the Winter Park Garden Club, but following a new arrangement with the City of Winter Park, is now a City-owned venue and operated in partnership with the club.

Renovations included new flooring and paint throughout, new stage, new tables and chairs, updated lighting, new windows, and the building can now seat roughly 175 people.

According to Executive Director Cynthia Hasenau, future renovations will include, hopefully, a wraparound terrace and new native landscaping looking out over the nearby pond and creekbed as well as an accessible unisex bathroom.

Current rental rates are $250 for a three-hour weekday rental, $900 for a six-hour weekend rental, and $75 for each additional hour. Tables, chairs, and table setup are included as well as access to the kitchen, side room, and patio. Click HERE for more information.

A ribbon-cutting event will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 22.

Mead Botanical Garden is located at 1300 S. Denning Drive, Winter Park [GMap].

Other improvements at the gardens include this new bridge over the pond, built by @bearded_conciousness
