Frantz Zéphirin is one of the leading contemporary artists working in Haiti today. A self-taught artist born in Cap Haitien in 1968, Zéphirin has variously been described as a visionary, a surrealist, a visual satirist and an “historic animalist.” His work has been featured in museums and galleries around the world. Our open house begins wtih an informal demonstration by Paint Out pastel artist Gary Rupp at 1 p.m., who will lead registered teams of studens in our Inagural Chalk Walk. The week closes with the Winter Park Paint Out Garden Party on Saturday, April 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Polasek Museum. At this ticketed event, guests can meet the artists, purchase their work, and see the entire exhibition of more than 200 paintings while enjoying excellent food and drinks.
