The Orange County School Board applied for a Conditional Use Permit that would allow for a new development to the north of Edgewater High School that would host a new Agricultural Education Center.

When completed, the Educational Center would house a teaching greenhouse, outdoor educational space, and demonstration food cultivation areas on a +/- 1.15 acre located just north of the main campus, on the other side of Maury Road.

The entire site would function as an urban farm and horticulture site that operates in partnership with the 4Rivers Foundation. The school would create a new Horticulture Science program that would be integrated into the curriculum for students in grades nine through 12.

No farm animals such as chickens, goats, or pigs are allowed.
