Tonda Corrente of La Femme du Fromage (Facebook | Website) is opening a second location in the North Quarter this summer.

Corrente told Bungalower (while attending Rockin’ Robinson in The Milk District) that she signed a lease for the former Pearson’s Cafe space at 807 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] over the weekend.

Editor’s Note: Readers with good memories may recall that we told you the owner of the building, Craig Ustler, was looking for a new local tenant back in October 2018.

The new shop will serve as a larger version of the East End Market staple but with an expanded menu and private dining room for special events. The expansion and extra kitchen space provides more opportunities for Corrente’s thriving catering services that already have steady followings at venues around town like Quantum Leap.

Work on the restaurant space will primarily be aesthetic, with plans to replace the flooring and rework the interior prior to opening in spring 2019.
