UPDATE: The man has been identified as 36-year-old Jason Seifer. Seifer was an Orlando resident and a software engineer at Doximity.

 

A missing swimmer was recovered, deceased, from Lake Ivanhoe on Saturday evening.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the death. As of the time of this post, Bungalower was informed that no names or further details will be released until the next of kin have been notified.

At 5:39 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 representatives from Orlando Police, Orange County Dive, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and Orlando Regional Medical Center were dispatched to a suspected drowning at the Lake Ivanhoe Boat Ramp.

According to the case file, copied below, an adult white male jumped from a tube that was being towed by a boat, as it approached the dock. He did not resurface.

According to Orlando Sentinel, his body was later recovered by the dive teams in :about 20 feet of water.” See their story HERE.

This is a developing story. The cause of the man failing to resurface has not been released/identified at this time.
