Winter Park artist collective, McRae Art Studios (Facebook | Website), will need to move in the near future, as the owner has decided to sell the building rather than continue renting it to them.

McRae Art Studios, currently houses 23 artists in a 10,000 SF warehouse in Winter Park. The artists have individual studios but work together in a collective to pay rent and hold exhibits. The group opens their work space to the public only twice a year in early spring and late autumn.
McRae Art Studios has existed in one form or another for almost 29 years  Central Florida area. It was founded in 1987 by George and Marty Whipple on McRae St. by the Florida Hospital, but has hopped between four subsequent locations since its beginning. They have been in their current location in Winter Park [GMap] since 1998.

The present Railroad Avenue property was inherited by the current owner who lives out of state. Following a current trend in the neighboring real estate, the owner will be placing the property on the market. According to McRae artist Stephen Bach, the building will soon be listed at about $1.3M.

The artists will have 90 days to exit the premises, following the eventual sale of the building.
