UPDATE: According to paperwork included at the bottom of this post, the landlord is alleging that The Yard owes them roughly $249,105.16 in unpaid rent.

Orlando’s largest and most bougie food hall, Hall on the Yard  (Facebook), has reportedly closed.

The 12,250 SF food hall, the largest commercial tenant of The Yard on Ivanhoe development at Alden Road and Virginia Drive, opened for business on November 18, 2021.

According to security personnel on site, who wished to remain anonymous, the property management company was forced to evict the operators for failing to pay rent. A small printed-out sign reading “Permanently Closed” has been taped to the front door of the building though no official announcement had been made at the time of this post.

An internal email had been sent out to employees earlier in the day, with the following message.

We have tried to contact the operators of the food hall and the property management team for a quote and are still awaiting a response. The Hall’s website has been taken down.

Jamal Wilson, the owner of The Hall on The Yard and its sister space The Hall on Franklin, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January 2023 to “reorganize his debt, due to high construction costs,” according to an earlier report by Tampa Bay Business Journal.
