The Timucua Arts Foundation, the umbrella organization which runs the free, living-room concert series at the Timucua White House in Downtown South, has launched a new series of workshops to teach music composition.

In the Works With Sounds series participants will learn how to express themselves musically under the tutelage of professional composers. Students of all levels and ages are welcome to participate at the weekly workshops, which will be hosted in the Melrose Center in the Downtown branch of the Orange County Public Library.

Classes are free, no registration is required. and will consists of a presentation of a musical topic, a guided exercise, improv and workshop time, and then performing your new 3-5 minute piece. Classes take place every Sunday from 2-4 p.m., October through January.
