The Orlando Police Department is currently accepting applications for its Citizen Police Academy.

The five-week course is free to attend and is meant to help foster relationships between the police department and the community in a classroom environment. The workshops follow the following topics:

  • Criminal Investigations
  • Crime Center Operations
  • Police Training Simulator Demo
  • Overview of Specialized Units like SWAT, Motors, and K-9
  • DUI Investigations

Classes start on June 26 and are held weekly, every Wednesday, from 6-9 p.m. at the Orlando Police Headquarters, located at 1250 W. South Street [GMap]. You must be 18 years old to participate. Click HERE for more information or to apply.
