Attention artists:

Applications are now available for the Artists in Communities Grant (Website), a grant initiative by United Arts of Central Florida (Website/Facebook).

Professional artists with at least two years of experience in literature, media arts, performing or theatrical arts and visual art are encouraged to partner with a host organization like a community center, social service organization or a Main Street to apply for a $2,500 grant to fund a community-based art project.

Panelists judge the applications based on uniqueness and scope of the project, impact of the project on the community and on the feasibility of their budget.

Artists must be at least 18 years of age, a legal citizen of the United States, a resident of Lake, Orange, Osceola or Seminole County and cannot have received an individual grant from United Arts in the past year or be an undergraduate student during the grant period. Group projects and collaborations are limited to one grant award.

Interested parties are encouraged to attend optional workshops before applying.

Tomorrow will be the last workshop to attend in Orange County before the applications are due. We encourage you to reach out and help make Orlando a better place to live by sharing your art with the community through this program.

Grants for Artists: Orange County  2-3:30 pm Wednesday, Jan. 14; Germaine Marvel Building, Art & History Museums Maitland, 210 W. Packwood Ave, Maitland (Gmap)
