UPDATE: The current soft open hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bad As’s Sandwich shop (Website) has soft opened their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in the Milk District, in the former home of Se7enbites Bake Shop [GMap].
Chef John Collazo started the business concept as a food truck, after a stint selling sandwiches curb-side at NASA in Cocoa. After reaching a modicum of success with his truck he decided to take the next step.
The restaurant focuses on fresh, contemporary sandwich recipes with an eye for creative combinations. They’re offering a limited menu during their soft opening, which we photographed below.
The 1,000 SF interior has been completely renovated and bares little resemblance to the Se7enbites days, with not a trace of green in sight.
Current operating hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. which they will expand after their grand opening. Since they opened this past weekend they’ve run out of menu items fairly early in the day, so if you’re going to try them this week be sure to show up earlier rather than later. Bad As’s Sandwich will be expanding to later hours soon and are considering adding a service window out front for pickup orders.
The food truck will continue to operate around the Orlando area, including at Tasty Tuesday (Facebook) every week in the Milk District.
