Memphis-based Mid-America Apartment Communities Inc., is eyeing up 2+ acres of land owned by the Diocese of Orlando for a new nine-story apartment building in Downtown Orlando.

The 325-unit development would be located on the corner of Orange and Robinson at 336 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] and would include retail, a 606-space parking garage, and a large courtyard.

The land is currently used for parking by St. James Catholic Cathedral.

The plans for the Orange and Robinson Apartments project have not been approved by the City of Orlando yet.
