Juneteenth falls on Friday, June 19 this year and you can celebrate the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the Confederacy by going on a scavenger hunt of local Black-owned businesses.
Black Friday Juneteenth 2020 is a free event that is encouraging Orlandoans to shop local and to shop Black this week. Click HERE to sign up and then follow @BlackFridayOrlando on Instagram for updates.
The official list of participating businesses will be released to the participants at 9 a.m. Friday morning along with the scavenger hunt rules. Teams have until midnight to explore the list of businesses and historic sites while using the hashtag, #JuneteenthEntry to be eligible for prizes.
Prizes will be awarded after midnight.
