Orlando City Soccer fans will soon be able to get a special purple license plate.
In order to make it official though, Orlando City needs to have at least 3,000 pre-sale vouchers sold for the new plates. The vouchers are now available at $25 plus taxes and fees. Once 3,000 pre-sale vouchers have been ordered, the Department of Motor Vehicles will manufacture the specialty plates and send them to tax collector offices and license plate agencies across the state.
Once that happens, all customers who hold a pre-sale voucher will be sent information on how to redeem the offer and get their plates.
Early designs for the plates are as seen below. Fans were asked to vote for their favorite one but the winner is yet to be announced. Once official, 55 percent of funds raised from the sale of the plates will go to the Professional Sports Development Trust Fund within the Department of Economic Opportunity and 45 percent will go to Enterprise Florida, Inc.
