On May 4th, 2021, a notoriously slow news day, Bungalower Media endorsed Ted the Turtle to win Frontier Airlines and Visit Orlando’s “Most Loved Animal Competition.”
The two companies banded together to pit animal against animal in a competition to see which charismatic megafauna would be selected to grace the back of an airplane in a recent publicity campaign for Central Florida and the parks they were sourced from; Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Gatorland, Sea Life Orlando Aquarium, and Wild Florida.
And in a serendipitous poof of glitter, Ted the Turtle has been announced as the bestest animal of the bunch, garnering the most votes in the nationwide search. The other animals; Ella the Florida Black Bear, Larry the American Alligator, and Flurry the Albino Alligator, have been gently prodded back into blissful, captive anonymity.
According to the press release, Ted is a loggerhead turtle that has been released multiple times back into the wild but was unable to survive in the wild on his own, so SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium has become his “forever home.”
