In The Studio With Michael Giragosian: A Vogue-Inspired Fashion Photography Workshop
Workshop description
Join us for an afternoon of Fashion photography, in a hands-on workshop inspired by Edward Steichen’s Vogue and Vanity Fair vintage photography, from our exhibition Edward Steichen: In Exaltation of Flowers. The workshop will be led by professional fashion photographer Michael Giragosian and includes an overview of the basics of Fashion Photography technique, how to work in a studio setting, with lighting, props, fashion garments, and a professional model from Modern Musemodeling agency, professionally styled by our sponsor Bloomingdales. Students will have the opportunity to set up, direct and photograph our professional model Rachel in 3 looks and many different settings. The photo session will be followed by a professional critique in which students will be given pro tips on how to improve their photography.
Advance registration required, Limited places available. Bring your own camera (cell phones also acceptable) or use one of the cameras provided by OMA (in limited supply). Bring your own laptop if you have one.

Michael Giragosian Bio
Michael Giragosian is a fashion and commercial photographer based out of Orlando, FL. Michael first taught himself to draw portraits copying the images in fashion magazines. After receiving a camera as a gift from his father, he realized that his true passion was photography. As a wedding photographer he learned to photograph and master any lighting situation on-the-spot and saw this as a great learning experience, which would later prove useful to his fashion photography practice. He contributes his fashion editorials regularly to Lapalme Magazineand Orlando Magazine, and has had the opportunity to work with Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Cartier, among many other luxury brands, to create compelling magazine covers and editorials.
