Clase de Teatro: Entrenamiento Actoral

El objetivo del taller es introducir a los participantes a ejercicios teatrales. Ofrecerles herramientas para explorar y desarrollar su expresividad a través del teatro, usando el español para comunicarse. Con ejercicios de movimiento and vocalizaciones pondremos en funcionamiento la imaginación, creando personajes. Entre todos crearemos situaciones para que sean transitadas por los personajes. La sesión concluirá con una serie de improvisaciones colectivas.

Dirigido a: Adultos (18+) con o sin experiencia teatral. Los participantes deben ser bilingües o estudiantes avanzados de español.

Clase de Teatro: Acting Training

The objective of this workshop is to introduce participants to theatrical exercises. To offer them tools to explore and develop their expressiveness through theater, while using Spanish to communicate. Through movement and vocalization exercises we put our imagination in motion, by creating characters. We will create situations to be experienced by our characters. The session will conclude with a series of improvisations.

For adults (18+) with or without theatre experience. Participants need to be bilingual or advanced Spanish students.


The class is taught by Eliana Stratico.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Eliana Stratico graduated from the Universidad Nacional del Arte as Actríz Nacional (National Actress). After moving to the United States in 2004, she earned her Master of Education from Northeastern University in Boston and her Master of Spanish from the Universidad Pontificia of Salamanca, in Spain. Her background includes music, acting for film, tango and contemporary dance.

She worked in Argentina and the United States as an actress, director, adapter, and drama instructor. Her acting credits in the U.S. include Anna in the Tropics, Twelve Angry Jurors, and The Seagull, among others. Her directing credits include Amor de Don Perlimplín con Belisa en su jardín, by Federico Garcia Lorca; Prohibido suicidarse en primavera and Los árboles mueren de pie, by Alejandro Casona; and the dramatic readings of Romeo y Julieta, translated by Pablo Neruda, and Garcia Lorca’s rural trilogy: Bodas de sangre, La casa de Bernarda Alba, and Yerma. She is the director of Teatro Español at Mad Cow Theatre.

Eliana combined her performing career with her passion for teaching. She used to teach Spanish as a Second Language in Boston Public Schools and Boston University. She also designed a Spanish through Theatre curriculum for a fifth semester Spanish class at BU and offered professional developments workshops for Spanish teachers and lecturers in the Department of Romance Studies of Boston University. Currently, she teaches English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at Orange Technical College and she periodically offers acting workshops for Spanish speaking actors and the general public at Mad Cow Theatre.
