Day of the Dead Celebration

Join us for Dia de los Muertos or a Day of the Dead Celebration on Saturday, October 30 from 10 am to noon!

Come remember and celebrate your loved ones at the museum
through this life-affirming celebration which has been celebrated for centuries
recognizing the eternal cycle of life.

Presented in partnership with Casa de Mexico and
Casa de Artes y Cultura CABETCAL.

The festivities will include:

  • Presentation by Beatriz Andrekovich about the significance of Dia de los Muertos
  • Art activities with Patricia Cavazos: Catrina masks and mini calavera sculptures
  • Dance performances by Mexico Lindo-Folkoric Ballet of Orlando
  • Music by Ravelli
  • Music by Mariachi Neuvo Guadalajara
  • Ofrenda created by David Peñaflor, Mexican Folklorist; and Lilly Carrasquillo, Artist
  • Pan de muerto from La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant
  • Mexican Hot Chocolate by Chef Alejandra
  • Docent-guided tours of “Luces y Sombras: Mexican Photography from the Bank of American Collection”
  • Day of the Dead fashion florals by The Heavy available for purchase
