Florida Friendly Gardening is a class that will reconnect us to our native Florida landscape. We will learn some key components of what makes Florida so unique and how to use those factors in our favor while gardening.
Gardening in Florida has its challenges as well amazing rewards. Together we will explore the environmental factors that affect our gardens and discuss ways we could use them to our advantage to attract beneficial wildlife, increase productivity, and create efficiency. We will discuss Florida native plant species that can easily be incorporated into our yards and landscapes to increase the biodiversity.

Instructor Michele Bumbier is a permaculture practitioner with a background in horticulture.
She works frequently with herbalism, pollinators, and Florida Native flowersplants. Her passion for bridging the gap between society and Nature began in 2012 when she intuitively created her first garden. The rewards were not just edible, but spiritual. This activated her desire to teach others about the endless benefits of gardening.
Michele has cultivated a strong spiritual practice communicating with Nature through intentional gardening. She uses her intuition to create and install permaculture landscapes that provide peace of mind to the resident, an abundance of food, and a special sanctuary for reconnecting with Earth. She has installed numerous organic gardens for various clients. She works extensively with children as well, teaching them the importance of protecting and honoring Nature. Michele is currently working on various permaculture installations, furthering her path in herbalism, and making medicinal remedies from her gardens.
