Friends Talking Faith: Making Sense of Turbulent Times
February 2, 2016 @ 7:00 pm
With terrorism, gun violence, racial/cultural tensions and more, 2015 proved to be a turbulent year. Join us at the next 90.7 WMFE Speaker Series event, “Friends Talking Faith: Making Sense of Turbulent Times,” featuring the stars of The Three Wise Guys – “Friends Talking Faith” Good Religion Radio — Imam Muhammad Musri, Rabbi Steven Engel and the Rev. Bryan Fulwider — and special guest Professor Rachel Allen, coordinator of the Valencia College Peace and Justice Institute.
Listen as a minister, a rabbi and an imam discuss these important issues and how the world’s major religions can offer some insight and coping strategies. A Q-and-A session will follow the program.
Parking: There is no designated parking for this event. Please park in any available space (disregard student and faculty/staff signs). Thank you!
This is a FREE event, but RSVP is required. Please visit http://www.wmfe.org/speaker-series-friends-talking-faith-live
About Friends Talking Faith:
Airing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays on 90.7 WMFE, the one-hour radio show features three clergy from different faith traditions – Imam Muhammad Musri, Rabbi Steven Engel and the Rev. Bryan Fulwider – sitting down as friends to talk together about important things from the perspectives of the different religions they represent. Today’s 24-hour news cycle most often highlights the ways in which people of differing faiths act in violence, disrespect and apparent malevolence toward one another. Friends Talking Faith is a counterbalance to this warped view, demonstrating that the vast majority of people – religious or non-religious – are peaceful, kind and compassionate.
