Homelessness, Parks & COVID -19: Moving from displacement to inclusion
More people than ever are sheltering in parks and public spaces. And yet, many municipalities are still using enforcement methods to address unhoused park users.
This webinar will look to explore inclusive alternatives to enforcement and displacement-based approaches and explore how we can better share parks and public spaces, and build connections between differently housed community members.
The panellists:
- Nakuset, Director of the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal
- Matthew Huxley, Chair of the Toronto Alliance to End Homelessness Lived Experience Working Group
Moderator:
This webinar will be moderated by Adri Stark, project coordinator at Park People, co-author of the 2020 Canadian City Parks Report and lead researcher on the report’s section on homelessness and inclusivity.
