Informed & Engaged: Racism in immigrant communities

June 29, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

FREE

The rising Black Lives Matter movement is inspiring important conversations around racism in immigrant communities — and shaping how journalists report on race issues, police brutality and other important topics. How are they shedding light on colorism and classism within their own communities? How can they address explicit racism or apathy about anti-Black racism? We’ll be joined by journalists Tanzina Vega, Karen Attiah and Karen K. Ho, who will have an honest discussion about immigrants, explicit racism and allyship.

PRESENTED WITH: The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Asian American Journalists Association.

Informed & Engaged is a weekly Knight Foundation show that unpacks the ideas and solutions impacting the changing media landscape. For more on this and all of Knight’s live programming, visit KF.org.
