Downtown Arts Collective presents a solo exhibition of the works of John Alamo, opening on March 21, 2019.
The exhibition presents a collection of the artist’s new works.
John Alamo is a Haitian American abstract artist living and working in Orlando. His artwork centers on a mixture of Vodun magic and his own dream world. With each stroke he expresses heightened energy and emotion. His work is an exploration of the boundaries between fight and play. A representation of the constant push and pull with his personal demons. His process is influenced by his physical environment as well as his mental state of mind. With his work, Alamo aims to empower the viewer to reach a state of self realization.
There will be a cocktail party and live music at Downtown Arts Collective to celebrate the opening of the exhibit from 6 to 9pm, coinciding with the monthly Third Thursday Gallery Hop.
