The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is collaborating with Disney | ABC Television Group, and ESPN to improve parks across the country in the Parks Build Community campaign. One of three City of Orlando parks will receive a $20K grant for improvements, and residents get to choose which one.
Orlando residents can vote daily for their favorite park project from April 1-30, 2016 by going HERE. The projects are:
  1. Engelwood Neighborhood Center Community Garden: Revamping the garden’s irrigation and upgrading tools to help students learn not only how to grow and harvest their crops, but also about healthy eating as they prepare meals and learn about nutrition.
  2. Poppy Park Court Revitalization: Refurbishing the popular basketball court will allow it to continue to be a destination for activity and play.
  3. Al Coith Park Fitness Pods: Installing fitness pods along the walking and jogging trail will help keep Orlando residents active.
Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake won the grant last year, which paid for enhancements to the Nature Connect Trail. We wrote about that HERE.
