One of the owners, Romi Mawardi, told us how he and a group of of friends used to live in the space before he decided to convert it into a bar. All of the antiques, signs, and furnishings are from Mawardi’s private collection. He and his brother have both had a hand in all of the design choices, down to creating their own wallpaper patterns. Notable pieces in the space include a vintage green leather lounge chair on a chain swing hanging from the rafters, sword replicas on the walls, vintage gumball machines, and massive floor-to-ceiling bookshelves straight out of a Disney movie.
The name Mather’s is a nod to the original name of the building. Scroll down to see a photo with original signage.
Mather’s Social Gathering will feature fresh juices made in-house, craft cocktails, and live entertainment. Mawardi is hoping to use the space for curated party experiences and special events, including literary readings, film screenings, and more.
We first wrote about Mather’s Social Gathering back in June, 2015, HERE.
