Mary Giraulo, the Grants and Arts Education Manager for United Arts of Central Florida, was just named the Community Arts Education Professional of the Year by the Florida Alliance for Arts Education.

Giraulo received the award in recognition for her advocacy in relation to arts education in schools. She currently manages five UA programs that oversee $1.47 million in funding to arts organizations and artists.

Giraulo founded a working group for arts education managers from different agencies across the State that meets quarterly and discusses arts education programs and best practices for local agencies.

Giraulo was nominated for the award by Scott Evans of Orange County Public Schools.
