Improvements to Denning Drive, which have occurred in several phases between 2017 and 2022, will continue from West Webster Avenue heading north to Solana Avenue. Construction will begin Tuesday, June 25, and is expected to be completed by Friday, August 9, weather permitting.

The improvement project, which is funded by the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), will take place on the west side of North Denning Drive near Orange Technical College. It will include a 10-foot-wide mixed-use path, 10 feet of landscape buffer space for shade trees, and two 10-foot-wide vehicle traffic lanes. The new mixed-use path will connect with existing mixed-use paths on Denning Drive.

Additional future improvements will include the following:

Previous Denning Drive improvements focused on pedestrian and bicycle safety, traffic flow, and local connection between neighborhoods, businesses, and city amenities such as Mead Botanical Garden and Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. A right-turn lane from South Denning Drive to West Fairbanks Avenue was also added to help improve traffic flow.

  1. They should put a left turn lane from east bound Fairbanks to Denning. My family was in an accident at this intersection in the past.

  2. What about connecting the two shopping centers at Orlando/Gay center of winter park and winter park village. Lots of foot traffic and driver don’t obey the pedestrian traffic signals. Lots of older people from the Plymouth that are out in harms way
