The Orlando Magic have an agreement to pay the city about $12.7 million for property to build a new entertainment complex.
The Orlando Sentinel obtained records that spell out the deal which the City of Orlando says is still being finalized.
The magic plan to build a $100 million dollar entertainment complex on the block just north of the Amyway Center. The property they are looking at is bordered by Central Blvd to the north, Church St. to the south, Hughey Ave. to the east and Division Ave. to the west.
Currently on the property is the Orlando Police Department Headquarters and a city parking garage (with retail on the ground floor). The block also owns a non-city owned property, the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. The Sentinel reported last week that the Magic are looking to purchase the shelter.
