The first See Art Orlando sculpture is now visible in downtown Orlando. Workers installed the sculpture inside heritage square over the weekend. The sculpture across from the History Center is by artist Deedee Morrison is called “Global Convergence.”
Here’s what it looks like behind the construction fence:
There are eight sculptures being installed in downtown as part of the See Art Orlando project. They are being installed over the next month and will be officially unveiled in November.
Here is a link to our map with the locations of the eight sculptures.
We will keep you posted as they go in and if you see one be sure to grab a picture and let us know.
So, R2D2 ate the wrong piece of candy at the Willy Wonka Candy Factory and is now a bloated globe?
It looks like a Christmas tree ornament for you would buy at Bass Pro Shop. Way to go SAO!
So embarrassing. Unfortunately, as long as the same group of people keeps controlling what happens with art in the Downtown area, this is the type of thing we will continue to get.
This is just ugly, looks like a third grade class did this, really Orlando, this is the best you could come up with?
I agree. It is so tacky and cheap looking that it’s hard to look at. Deedee Morrison’s other installations are actually really cool seen on her website. Leave it up to us to get her worst piece by far.
