UPDATE – The Lake Alert precaution for Lake Baldwin has been lifted and normal activities can now resume on the lake.

There was a Lake Alert precaution listed for Lake Baldwin on November 27 due to a potential for elevated bacteria levels due to sewer overflow.

Approximately 20 gallons of sanitary sewer fluids overflowed into the street near Lakemont Avenue and Philmont Lane late last week. The overflow was due to a clogged sanitary cleanout from a private residence. The clog has been removed and the area cleaned by City Wastewater crews.

As a precaution, City Wastewater crews will be posting warning signs around the lake and Stormwater personnel will be taking bacteria samples and monitoring the quality of the water. The City asks that all water contact activities cease until further notice.

For up-to-date information, contact the Lake Alert number at  407.246.2220 or the City’s Lake Alert website,
