The City of Orlando will be launching a solid waste pilot program that involves changing collection dates in seven Orlando neighborhoods.

For six months the residents living in the seven chosen neighborhoods will have their solid waste collection services flipped. Recycling will be taken every week, rather than once every second week, and trash will be taken only once per week, rather than twice. Collection days will also change.

There will be no change in yard waste services.

The neighborhoods include:

  • Audubon Park
  • Westchester
  • Carver Shores
  • Fairway Cove
  • Timberleaf
  • New Malibu
  • Baldwin Park

The pilot will begin on Monday, February 22.

According to the City website, approximately 65 percent of Orlando residents participate in curb-side recycling.
