According to a Small Business Facade Program application, a new restaurant called Casa Barcelona will be opening in the former California Burrito Express building at 3922 E. Colonial Drive [GMap].
From what we can see, the new Spanish restaurant is of no relation to the Barcelona Restaurant (Website) and Wine Bar that is reported to be opening in the Marketplace at Dr. Phillips.
The grant would pay for new paint, door repairs, landscaping, two new signs, parking lot repair and repainting, and new window graphics. The total estimated cost of these repairs is $48,525.
The Small Business Facade Review Committee recommended approval of funding in the amount of $20,000. The grant is an interest free deferred loan for facade improvements to new and existing commercial property and business owners in the City of Orlando, where the City loans 50 percent of the total project cost.
