The Court of Master Sommeliers (Website) inducted 20 new Advanced Sommeliers this month following an exam in Portland, Oregon, including an Orlando resident.
Melissa J. McAvoy, the owner of The Swirlery Wine Bar (Facebook | Website) just south of Downtown Orlando, was one of the 20 who passed the exam, out of a total of 69 candidates that had been selected to participate in the Court of Master Sommeliers America program. McAvoy was the only Floridian participant and one of only three women who passed.
