Alchemy Salon (Facebook | Website) was just awarded a small business loan from the City of Orlando to expand into the Milk District.

Alchemy owners, under the name Mod Milk, LLC, applied for assistance through the City’s Small Business Facade, Site Improvement and Adaptive Reuse Program to pay for upgrades at a new shop to be located at 600 N. Bumby Avenue [GMap].

Expected improvements include parking lot upgrades, an exterior concrete awning, and painting of the building as well as an upgraded mechanical system related to the change of use of the building; former medical/dental to a hair salon.

Improvements are expected to cost roughly $163,000 with a maximum FSARP funding allowance of $50,000.

Alchemy management declined to comment on this story.
