United Arts dishes out almost $1.5 million to local organizations

United Arts of Central Florida (Website) announced their list of Operating Support Grants recipients this week, to which they will be providing $1.495 million. A total that is roughly $15,000 more than last year.

2018 Operating Support Grant recipients for Large Budget organizations, in order of dollars awarded, include:

  • Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra – $199,400
  • Orlando Ballet – $177,700
  • Orlando Science Center – $176,700
  • Orlando Shakes – $160,700
  • Orlando Repertory Theatre – $121,000
  • Orlando Museum of Art – $115,400
  • Crealde School of Art – $61,700
  • Bach Festival Society of Winter Park – $61,200
  • Enzian Theater – $48,600
  • Art and History Museums – Maitland – $42,500
  • Orange County Regional History Center – $27,200
  • Garden Theatre – $27,100
  • Orlando Fringe – $26,900
  • Downtown Arts District – $22,700
  • Central Florida Community Arts – $21,500

The City of Orlando recently voted to distribute an additional $202,141 in response to a 94 percent decrease in State spending.
