Orange County has inked a deal that will allow them to collect the Tourist Development Tax to some short-term rental properties via TripAdvisor; one of the most popular travel and restaurant sites that handles rentals for tourists headed to the Orlando region.

The tax is applied to hotel, motel, and other short-term rental sales in the county to fund tourism-related expenses like marketing for more and more tourists or funding venues like the Camping World Stadium.

TripAdvisor (Website) will collect the taxes from people booking their trips via their platforms, including BookingBuddy, FlipKey, GateGuru, Jetsetter, SmartTravel, etc.
