Three Orlando breweries won big at statewide beer competition

A total of eight Central Florida breweries ended up taking home ten awards at the annual Best Florida Beer Professional Championship; a beer, mead, and cider competition sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and the Beer Judge Certification Program.

Gold medals were awarded to the following:

  • Broken Strings Brewery (Website) for their Liquid Vinyl black IPA in the American Style Black/Brown Ale category and for Honorable Mention for Best of Show.
  • Tactical Brewing Company (Website) for their Base Lager in the International Style Lager.
  • Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company (Website) for their Tupac ShaPorter which won in the Baltic Porter category.

Silver medals were won by Sanford’s Deviant Wolfe Brewing, Hourglass Brewing in Longwood, and Bowigen’s Beer Company and bronzes awarded to Crooked Can in Winter Garden and Central 28 Beer Co. in DeBary.
