After 20 years, Dean Grandin has retired from his role as the Planning Division Manager at the City of Orlando.

Grandin, who came to Orlando after stints in Yonkers and Miami Beach, has over 40 years of city planning super-knowledge in his belt and has spent his local career shaping the actual skyline of The City Beautiful, including major roles in the development of southeast Orlando and Lake Nona, Baldwin Park, and in setting the framework for Creative Village.

Grandin will be “replaced” by two Wonder Twin staff members, Elisabeth Dang as the new Planning Division Manager, and Jason Burton as Planning Assistant Division Manager.

Our editor had a chance to sit with Grandin leading up to his last days at City Hall and recorded the following bonus episode of “Bungalower and The Bus” which you can listen to below. The interview includes Grandin’s candid takes on upcoming development projects, his thoughts on his career with the City of Orlando, and more.
