The City of Orlando is looking to “take a slice of Downtown trash” this week.

The city’s Downtown Clean Team will install six pizza box-only trash bins around the Central Business District in various locations – that are yet to be released.

The new program is meant to keep larger pizza boxes out of generic public trash receptacles, which cause an overflow of trash in the public right-of-ways.

Even though pizza boxes are often made from cardboard, they are not recyclable because of the grease they absorb and are instead treated as waste.
