Google has released a new Paper Phone as part of a new series of “digital well-being experiments” that enable phone-addicted users to take a digital detox.
The new Paper Phone project allows users to print out phone essentials like the day’s schedule, analog games, and essential contacts in an easy-to-fold mini-zine that you can carry with you throughout the day. There are even pockets that you can slip in your credit card if you’re used to paying with e-pay or tap services.
The code for the Paper Phone program is available on Github for techies to play with and adapt on their own. Which is good because currently, the sudoku app produces unsolvable games and some users’ calendars are not displaying automatically.
