We told you HERE in October 2018 that at least half of Colonial Lanes was to be saved from demolition for an upcoming self-storage project in the Milk District. While that project is still moving forward, a new developer has taken the wheel.

Originally led by local developer Phil Rampy, the front half of Colonial Lanes was saved from the wrecking ball in the hopes of restoring it for a future “upscale entertainment complex.”

However, Rampy told Bungalower this past July that the estimated renovation costs were just too high for his team to continue with the project and that he had backed out.

Luckily, a new development team has stepped up and kept nearby Titan Properties from expanding its Primrose Self-Storage project.

National Real Estate (Website), led by Giovanni and Elise Fernandez, has the property under contract. Giovanni Fernandez told Bungalower that he plans to carry on with the planned adaptive reuse elements that will see it live again as an entertainment venue but with more modern elements. The lanes will remain.

National Real Estate is the company behind the recent developments at Robinson and Bumby that house Sidewards Brewing and Stasio’s Italian Deli as well as the Hourglass District in South Orlando.

Colonial Lanes is located at 400 Primrose Drive [GMap].
