UPDATE: The opening has officially been pushed back to September 16.

Russell’s on Ivanhoe is the newest tenant in the City of Orlando-owned restaurant space in Gaston Edward’s Park that most-recently was home to the shortlived Mesa 21 at 1414 N. Orange Avenue [GMap].

The name is inspired by the history of the neighborhood and is a nod to George Russell who moved to Florida in 1885 and made his living on the shore of Lake Ivanhoe selling pineapples. More on that HERE.

Russell’s is a new casual fine dining concept that is scheduled to open to the public on September 11 after a couple of days for just friends and family on the 8th and 9th. According to General Manager, Marcus Pitman (LinkedIn), told Bungalower that the menu will be approachable yet high end. The early draft of the menu that Pitman shared featured a burger, swordfish, steak, salads, and more. And yes, it will also feature some pineapple-inspired dishes and cocktails.
